It's been an exciting, eventful week here at Julie Anne Long's house, and I'll tell you all about it some time soon, but frankly, at the moment, all I feel like doing is giving away a signed copy of BATS or TO LOVE A THIEF to a commenter, because it's fun to give stuff away :) Just tell me, oh, what you plan to do this weekend in the comments below, and I'll recruit my sis to choose a winner by 9 p.m. Monday evening! As for me, I might go visit my East Bay hometown for its big anniversary celebration, and because the sun might be shining there, and it just isn't shining here. The fog remains relentless. But I'm listening to Elbow, particularly "Powder Blue", because it's one the world's most beautiful songs, and because Guy Garvey's voice is the perfect fog accompaniment.
And calling all bloggers! If you have an established blog (I'm thinking, at least a few months old?)—either your own or one you share with a group—and you're game to post an excerpt from WAYS TO BE WICKED the last week of September or the first week of October, send me a note! I'll send you the excerpt from WTBW via email, and as a thank you, I'll send you a signed copy of BEAUTY AND THE SPY along with a little collection of commemorative bookmarks (hee! I do still have some lovely bookmarks for THE RUNAWAY DUKE and TO LOVE A THIEF, and who knows??? They might be collector's items!), for you to either to keep or give away on your blog. I'll also mention your blog on my blog and in my November newsletter. I'll see how many responses I get—I might set my limit at about 15 or 20, if I get a lot. Hey! It's a grand experiment!
Thanks, my darlings, and have a wonderful weekend!!
Um, Kevin? Anyone who's known me as long as you have is obligated to BUY lots of copies of my book. LOL. Nice try, though. And I miss picnics at Lake Elizabeth. :) And Chubby burgers.
And Diana -- I'll definitely have to give Mandalay a shot!! And aren't you hoping we're FINALLY getting our Indian Summer here in SF?? I'm crossing my fingers. Today was exquisite. Warm and soft and so RARE.

My weekends are pretty quiet; makes up for the full house I have during the week. My own "little ones" range in age from 22 to 14 now, so weekends are my recovery days. *grin* Me and mine tend to veg out or do some cleaning up around the house - ALWAYS a lot of fun! But there are no toddlers running around underfoot, so it's a change of pace anyways.
I would absolutely LOVE to host an excerpt from "Ways to be Wicked" on my lonely little blog, but it's only 2 months-plus-a-tad old and very, very quiet. Still I get a chance to write out my once-in-a-while thoughts; my "kids" thought it was pretty funny that I have a blog. Hah! what do they know about I'm still a pretty cool person ~ sound of uproarious hilarity in the background... Kids!
Great idea about the excerpt hosting btw, more people should know who you are and the awesome writing you do!
Have a great one, everybody.

Hi Kathy! You're so sweet -- thanks for saying lovely things about my books! Sounds like you have a lively crowd in the house, too—it's always good to have your own live-in cleanup crew. LOL! As for hosting a WTBW excerpt on your blog—well, I figure it's an egalitarian affair—come one, come all!! I'd like to get as many folks involved as possible, readers, authors, you name it, because I think it'll be fun. My only criteria is -- you post the excerpt, and then tell all your friends and family about it. :) And I'll send you a book! I'll also mention your blog on my blog and link to it, so readers can get to know each other through their respective blogs. :) I'll send you an email with details, if you're interested.

I would be thrilled to post an excerpt and sending out announcements to ALL kinds of people, well that would be fun! My husband and I have 5 siblings each, so there are plenty of in-laws & out-laws right off the top as well as a lot of people that I deal with online as I sell bits and pieces of my collections by auction and from my site. Goody, goody.. another BOOK ~ and bookmarks... did I mention that I'm a collector? LoL...thank you! You've made my day. ^.^
